The primary purpose of the Australasian Journal of Podiatric Medicine is to publish peer-reviewed articles related to the diseases and conditions of the foot and lower extremity. Both clinical and basic science manuscripts are considered. It is anticipated that such information will improve the care of patients, expand the understanding of foot function and its ailments, stimulate new and innovative ideas, and provide a forum for dialogue among podiatrists and other health professionals within Australasia and beyond. An editor, along with an advisory committee, and a body of consultant reviewers, critically review all submissions.
The AJPM also publishes unique case reports which enhance the understanding of the diagnosis, treatment, and pathophysiology of the diseases and conditions of the lower extremity. Special features include Clinical Perspective papers which report current controversial topics related to clinical practice.
Finally, the AJPM includes editorials and book reviews, as well as letters to the editor regarding professional issues.
