About the Australasian Podiatry Council

APodC logoPolicy for the use of the marketing logo

• All financial members of the Australian Podiatry Association and Podiatry New Zealand are entitled to use the podiatry marketing logo, which is registered as a trademark by the Australasian Podiatry Council.

• The design must not be tampered with in any way. However, the size may be reduced or enlarged as required.

• The official colour of this marketing logo is blue (colour coding PMS 285). The logo may be reproduced in this blue or black, or in any other colour provided it is not deemed to reflect poorly on the profession as a whole. An opinion should be sought from the Australasian Podiatry Council if the member is in any doubt.

• The word "podiatry" may be left off the design if the word podiatry appears in prominence adjacent to the design, e.g. on a sign board for a podiatrist's rooms, the logo may appear without the wording if "podiatrist" or "podiatry" appears beside the logo and the connection is obvious.

• The marketing logo may appear on any surface (e.g. signs, brochures, clothing, letterhead, appointment cards, etc) at the discretion of the member, provided it is not deemed to reflect poorly on the profession as a whole. An opinion should be sought from the Australasian Podiatry Council if the member is in any doubt.

An appropriate organisation may use the marketing logo, with the Australasian Podiatry Council's written permission, in relevant circumstances, e.g. on a sign for a hospital podiatry department where member podiatrists are in attendance. Organisations should contact the Australasian Podiatry Council for permission.

• A former member, who no longer belongs to the Australian Podiatry Association for whatever reason, is not entitled to continue to use the marketing logo
.

For Member Associations:

• Member Associations are also entitled to use the official Council badge in addition to the marketing logo. The use of the badge will distinguish Association/Council produced material from material produced by a member. For example, if a Member Association publishes a leaflet on podiatry, it may use the marketing logo as a promotional tool on the cover, but may also choose to use the badge elsewhere on the publication.

• However Member Associations may wish to consider whether or not use of the badge as well as the marketing logo confuses the message. It may be sufficient to clearly state "published by the Australian Podiatry Association (state)", and the the address and telephone number which will suffice for copyright purposes.

Policy for the use of the accredited podiatrist logo

  • Only Accredited financial members of the Australian Podiatry Association or Podiatry New Zealand are entitled to use the Accredited Podiatrist logo, which is registered as a trademark by the Australasian Podiatry Council.
  • An Accredited Podiatrist is a podiatrist who:
      • Has completed the requirements of the Accredited Podiatrist Program
      • Is in possession of a current Accredited Podiatrist Program Certificate, issued by his/her member association
  • The design must not be tampered with in any way. However, the size may be reduced or enlarged as required.
  • The official colour of the Accredited Podiatrist logo is burgundy (colour coding PMS 222) which distinguishes it from the blue marketing logo which can be used by any APodA/Society member - regardless of their accreditation status. The logo may be reproduced in this burgundy or black, but not in any other colour.
  • The Accredited Podiatrist logo may appear on any surface (e.g. signs, brochures, clothing, letterhead, appointment cards, etc) at the discretion of the member, provided it is not deemed to reflect poorly on the profession as a whole. An opinion should be sought from the Australasian Podiatry Council if the member is in any doubt.
  • A former member, who no longer belongs to the Australian Podiatry Association or Podiatry New Zealand, for whatever reason, is not entitled to continue to use the Accredited Podiatrist logo.
  • A practitioner who ceases to be Accredited for whatever reason is not entitled to continue to use the Accredited Podiatrist logo.
  • Where the Australasian Podiatry Council or member associations wish to use the Accredited Podiatrist logo, the above rules should be taken into consideration.

For Member Associations:

  • Member Associations and the Podiatry New Zealand are also entitled to use the official Council badge in addition to the marketing logo. The use of the badge will distinguish Association/Council produced material from material produced by a member. For example, if a Member Association publishes a leaflet on podiatry, it may use the marketing logo as a promotional tool on the cover, but may also choose to use the badge elsewhere on the publication.
